Most women, especially,
those of us who have more years in age than we can wrap our mind around see ourselves in that mirror every morning and wonder, “How did I get this old?” Be honest with me. I’m surely not the only one who has even said this out
But my friend, don’t think your outward appearance that you see reflected is how God sees you. If you know God and have had Him as your friend for a time, you know He sees us very differently
then we see ourselves.
In 1 Samuel 16:7b we read, “The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” NIV
Probably most of us have a few good friends who love us enough to look beyond our outward appearance and see us much like our loving Heavenly Father sees us.
I am thankful
and blessed for my years. I know that I can look in the mirror and see myself as a cherished and beloved daughter of my Heavenly Father who has spoken to me personally many times in His gentle whisper.
the fire, came a gentle whisper” 1 Kings 19:12 NIV
Learning to be still takes practice and I am still learning how to be quiet in His presence. While I know that
He is Omnipresent, there is a hunger and passion deep within for being so still that His heartbeat becomes my heartbeat. So still that His gentle whisper is clear.
Sometimes He whispers in my prayer time when I join Him in the Secret Place. A verse jumps out and you just know there is something He wants you to reflect on. My experience has been when I ask Him what the deeper meaning is, He speaks
and reveals more about His ways. Other times I hear Him while taking a walk, or when I’m just going about my day. Wherever and whenever we hear His gentle whisper, it is always an opportunity for reflection.
My prayer as you take this journey in REFLECTIONS you will begin to hear more clearly His gentle whisper speaking His love to you.
