Have you ever had the sense of having been running from something?  Perhaps you have had at least one dream where this happens.  When you wake up your heart is pounding and it takes a few minutes to realize it was just a dream.  Or was it?  Dreams can be from God, our replay of events of the past, or even be demonically inspired if we have given ourselves to worry, fear, or anxiety.

But even without it being a dream, the feeling may hang with you and for some reason you just can’t shake it.  If you are running from something trying to take you captive, you need to know what or who it is.

Many of us are or have been taken captive by a religious system of law.  False teaching wield influence over us and captivated us into a wrong thinking and a distorted concept of Truth.

I have found that sometimes God speaks to us in revelations, visions, and dreams.  Numbers 12:6 says,

“And the Lord said to them, listen to what I say: “If there were prophets among you, I, the Lord would reveal myself in visions. I would speak to them in dreams.”  NLT

I would suggest that all of us can break loose from captivity and allow ourselves to be taken captive by the Love Of God.  Jesus came to set the captives free and captivate our hearts in a personal and intimate relationship with God. John 8:36 says,

“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.”

In freeing us from religious bondage and deception that only exists in the kingdom of darkness under the enemy, He makes us partakers of His Divine Nature.  2 Peter 1:3-4 says:

As we know Jesus better, His divine power gives us everything we need for living a godly life.  He has called us to receive His own glory and goodness! And by that same mighty power, He has given us all of His rich and wonderful promises. He has promised that you will escape the decadence all around you caused by evil desires and that you will share in His divine nature.”  NLT

When we are freed from any other captor, we won’t find ourselves running from something, but running to Him.

So Beloved, run from the captivity of darkness and run to the Light of His Kingdom.  I can guarantee that running “to” puts us in a direct path to be caught by God who knows how to captivate our heart.

No more running to live by law under deceptive influence.  No more trying gain the prize of the high calling by works of the flesh.  No more being influenced by the lies of the enemy.

Have you been captured by God’s Love?  Are you under the control of the Holy Spirit?  Is your mind free from lies because you have taken every thought captive to the obedience of Christ? 2 Corinthians 10:5 says:

“We demolish arguments and every pretensions that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive very thought to make it obedient to Christ.” NIV

So Beloved, are you running “from” or running “to”?

Here is the dichotomy.

Religious bondage and deception – no freedom.

Life in the Spirit under His control – FREEDOM!

The choice is always before us.  Find out what you may be running from and be captured by the Love of God.
