PERSUADED

What was the first time you were persuaded about something?  I am more prone to use the word confident.  Yet, that is the word that woke me up not to long ago?  I wrote it down (so I wouldn’t forget) and decided to meditate on it when I had time. When that time came, some scriptures came to mind.

 Romans 8:38-39

For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

 2 Timothy 1:12

For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless, I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day.

So, then I looked up the definition.

Definition - a primary verb; to convince (by argument, true or false); by analogy to pacify or conciliate (by other fair means); reflexive or passive to assent (to evidence or authority), to rely (by inward certainty), agree, assure, believe, have confidence, be (wax) confident, obey, persuade, trust, yield.

What am I really persuaded by or confident it?  I personally have no problem with God’s Word.  By being confident in the validity and trustworthiness of God, I can face the challenges of life.

If I have committed my life to Him, then I can without a doubt believe that He is with me in any circumstance.

All through my journey thus far, I can say with confidence that He has been with me in every circumstance I have faced big or small.  But in honesty, there have been some that I didn’t realize His presence in the situation until sometime after I got through it.

His Word makes it clear. “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” (Rom. 8:28 NIV) Verse 29 states that His purpose is to conform us to the image of Jesus.

So beloved, are we fully persuaded that God is fully on our side?  Are we convinced that His Grace, (enabling power in us through Christ) will bring the very best out of every situation?

Look again at Romans 8:38 “For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”   I don’t think this leaves out anything we face in life that He can’t work out for a good outcome even if it is only in us becoming just a little more like Jesus.

Remember, God’s got IT whatever IT is.
